RIK announces final election results

The Electoral Commission (RIK) published last night the final results of Serbia's early parliamentary elections held on 16 March, according to which, the coalition led by the Serb Progressive Party (SNS) won 158 seats in Serbia's 250-seat parliament.

The second-ranked is the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS)-Party of United Pensioners of Serbia (PUPS)-United Serbia (JS) coalition with 44 seats.
The Democratic Party (DS) won 19 seats, the New Democratic Party-Greens coalition 18, the Alliance of Vojvodina Hungarians six, the Party of Democratic Action of Sandzak three and Riza Halimi's Party for Democratic Action two seats.
A total of 6,756,998 voters were registered for the March 16 elections, and 3,592,375 cast their ballots.
A total of 1,736,920 citizens voted for the SNS, 484,607 for the SPS-PUPS-JS coalition, 216,634 for the DS and 204,767 for the NDS.
A total of 19 slates took part in the elections, and the vote was repeated at only one polling station in Novi Pazar.
