Tanja Miscevic
Miscevic told reporters during a break in the public procurement screening which is taking place in Brussels that the EU will change its regulations next year, which will put Serbia in a somewhat more difficult situation than planned.
Director of the Public Procurement Office Predrag Jovanovic, who is also head of the working group for this chapter, said that the Serbian law is to a large extent harmonised with the EU directives, but added that implementation is equally important.
The law should be enforced everywhere equally and consistently, reducing corruption to a minimum, he said.
The screening, which is the process of assessment of compliance of the candidate country's laws and regulations with the EU standards, is a necessary part of preparations for the opening of the talks on each of a total of 35 chapters.
