OSCE to participate in holding of elections in Kosovo-Metohija

Minister without portfolio responsible for Kosovo-Metohija Aleksandar Vulin and Head of the OSCE Mission in Kosovo-Metohija Jean-Claude Schlumberger spoke today about the organisation of voting in Serbian communities in Kosovo-Metohija for the upcoming parliamentary elections for Serbian Parliament.
Vulin recalled that there is an excellent model for the organisation of these elections in Kosovo-Metohija which was used at the 2012 elections and proved to be successful.
He explained that this model involves the engagement of the OSCE as a status neutral organisation and the work of their staff on the ground who have more expertise and experience in the organisation and monitoring of elections.
Schlumberger confirmed the readiness of the OSCE Mission in Kosovo to perform that task if such an agreement is reached.
Vulin and Schlumberger observed that successful organisation of the elections requires cooperation of the OSCE Mission and the Serbian government.
