Minister without portfolio responsible for Kosovo-Metohija Aleksandar Vulin stated today that the Serbian government requests that Leader of the Citizen Initiative “Serbia, Democracy, Justice” Oliver Ivanovic be given the right to pre-trial release.

Vulin told the Tanjug news agency that the government wants Ivanovic to be released so that he could prepare his defence properly, and by that time to be transferred to appropriate areas in the north of the province for the sake of his health and safety.
Also, the government requests that the indictment against Ivanovic be made public as soon as possible so that it could be determined what he is accused of.
He underlined that Ivanovic’s arrest is an attempt at destabilising the north of Kosovo-Metohija, as well as an act that causes a worrying instability and raises serious issues and doubts regarding everything that takes place in Kosovo-Metohija.
The arrest for war crimes that occurred 15 years ago is a frivolous explanation since Ivanovic has been available all those years both as a member of Pristina institutions and as a citizen of Kosovska Mitrovica, Vulin concluded.
