Dacic said after the talks with representatives of Pristina with the mediation of EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton that the deal has not been made because there are significant differences in opinion.
He explained that Pristina representatives insist that three Albanian-majority municipalities south of the Ibar River be included in the jurisdiction of the Basic Court in Kosovska Mitrovica, in addition to four Serbian municipalities.
This disrupts the representation by ethnic structure which was previously agreed upon, Dacic explained.
The Prime Minister added that the talks about judiciary and the upcoming parliamentary elections in Serbia will continue on 12 February after a UN Security Council session on Kosovo- Metohija, which will be held on 10 February in New York.
We hope to find practical solutions, Dacic said.
Dacic underlined that the Serbian government is surprised by the initiating of court proceedings against Leader of the Citizen Initiative SDP Oliver Ivanovic, and that it voiced its strong disagreement with that move.
We hope that this will not impact the upcoming re-run of elections in northern Kosovska Mitrovica, scheduled for 23 February, the Prime Minister stated.
First Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic also attended the 21st round of dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina held tonight.
