Murder of Serbian councillor in Kosovska Mitrovica must be resolved urgently

Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Ivica Dacic today condemned most harshly the murder of councillor of the Municipal Assembly of northern Kosovska Mitrovica Dimitrije Janicijevic and offered Serbia’s help to the EULEX and Kfor to find the perpetrators of the crime.

After signing the Operational agreement between the Republic of Serbia and Europol with Director of Europol Rob Wainwright, Dacic told the press that he does not know what the motives of the murder are, but that this crime has political implications and consequences since the victim was a politician.
He warned that any form of destabilisation of affairs in Serbia, violence, incidents and murders like this one threaten to violate the pace and safety of citizens.
Serbia condemns this crime in the harshest terms and demands an urgent investigation to find the culprits, the Prime Minister stated.
