Serbs’ interest to vote in local elections in Kosovo

Director of the Office of Media Relations Milivoje Mihajlovic said today that it is in the interest of Serbs to vote in local elections in Kosovo-Metohija on 3 November and to secure for themselves the right to decide about their future.

Mihajlovic told the morning programme of Radio Television Serbia that there is still the question how the displaced persons will vote, noting that it will be discussed in the following dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina on 27 August in Brussels.
Mihajlovic said that if the agreements from Brussels are honored and if the displaced people, people who have ties with Kosovo, who were born and lived in Kosovo are able to vote, the number of the Serb electorate should not be less than 200,000.
The Director of the Office of Media Relations said that local elections are part of the Brussels agreement, which bears a strong mark of status neutrality and added that Serbia would not agree that the ballots have the hallmarks of the so-called Republic of Kosovo.
