After a meeting of Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic and Prime Minister Ivica Dacic with a delegation of the Serbs from Kosovo-Metohija, Djuric told the press that the state will stand by its people in Kosovo-Metohija, regardless of the decision they make.
The Serbian President’s Advisor reiterated that Serbia will not let anything related to local elections in Kosovo-Metohija jeopardise their status neutrality.
Serbia will not allow ballots to carry the signs of the so-called independent state of Kosovo because in that case that would not be a normal election process, he underlined and expressed his hope that the EU will not allow such a flagrant violation of the principle of status neutrality.
Djuric pointed out that the formation of municipalities based on principles of status neutrality, as envisaged by the Brussels agreement, should be a way to fight for national interests in the near future.
The steps we will make over the next weeks and months will show whether we used the chance and won, or we failed, he noted and added that today’s meeting dealt with all the topics related to the life of Serbian people in Kosovo-Metohija.
The meeting was attended by Director of the Serbian government’s Office for Kosovo-Metohija Aleksandar Vulin and his deputy Krstimir Pantic.
The delegation of the Serbs from Kosovo included presidents of municipalities of Leposavic Dragisa Vasic, of Kosovska Mitrovica Dragisa Vlaskovic, of Zubin Potok Slavisa Ristic and of Zvecan Dragisa Milovic.
The delegation also included President of the Kosovska Mitrovica District Radenko Nedeljkovic, and President of the Serbian National Council of northern Kosovo Milan Ivanovic.
