The meeting was held at the Serbian Presidency building and it was attended by Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic, Prime Minister Ivica Dacic, First Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic, Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Suzana Grubjesic and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivan Mrkic.
Advisor to the Serbian President Marko Djuric said that the state’s top leaders will be in permanent session until 1 April when the decision will be made on the composition of the delegation that will take part in the next round of dialogue to be held on 2 April in Brussels.
He said that the consequences of the outcome of dialogue will be extremely serious and far-reaching for the country regardless of which way things will go, and stressed that Serbia is in a dilemma to choose between two very difficult paths.
According to him, one path is to accept solutions that are not ideal and that are very difficult for the entire Serbia, and the second path is the one in which Serbia, due to the fact that the other side was not willing to compromise, is not in a position to accept what is being discussed.
Djuric said that the current position of our country is not any easier than the one during the negotiations in Dayton and Rambouillet, adding that citizens have a right to know that, and they should also be aware of the fact that the consequences, regardless of the outcome of the meeting in Brussels, will be far-reaching.
The Advisor to the Serbian President said that for Serbia it is very important to be able to assess the elements offered by the other party before making a decision in the talks in Brussels on 2 April and underlined that so far Pristina has not been willing to compromise.
