Today’s adoption of the Bill on reporting and registering confiscated property will help to establish the value of confiscated property that has to be returned to previous owners or to pay them appropriate compensation.
The government also passed the Bill on amendments to the Law on jurisdiction of state bodies in combating organised crime. These amendments have been harmonised with the latest amendments to the Law on criminal procedure.
The Decree amending the Decree on criteria for setting the price of medicines was adopted, as well as the Decree on establishing a programme for protection and improvement of forests in 2005.
The government approved the programme of the Serbian Development Fund for 2005 and the programme for the use of Fund finances for encouraging regional development, in line with the Law on the budget of the Republic of Serbia. Also, the government approved the work plan of the National Employment Service.
At today's session, the government approved the following documents of the Guarantee Fund - the Work Programme for 2005, the Financial Plan for 2005, the amendments to the Statute of the Fund and the amendments to the Fund's Rule Book. In addition, the 2005 programme on the allocation and use of funds for reconstruction of the Kolubara District, which was hit by an earthquake, was also approved.
The government adopted a Conclusion on determining the salary base for employees in the education sector, culture institutions, social care centres, and health sector in fiscal 2005. The salary base will be increased by 9.1 percent in 2005 as agreed with representatives of relevant unions.
The government also approved a Conclusion on giving guarantees to The Hague Tribunal for General Milan Gvero’s release pending trial. Gvero, who has decided to surrender to the tribunal voluntarily, today went to The Hague, accompanied by Serbian Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government Zoran Loncar, who is also a member of the National Council for Cooperation with The Hague Tribunal.
The government adopted the Information on the need to grant one-off financial assistance and to pay wage arrears to employees of publishing firm Panorama from Pristina, which publishes newspaper Jedinstvo, the sole mouthpiece of the Serb population in Kosovo-Metohija.
