After the meeting held in Zagreb, Mrkic and Pusic announced regular ministerial meetings every six months, and confirmed that the issue of mutual genocide charges will also be discussed.
They talked about a series of concrete steps related to border regime that will be done once Croatia joins the EU, and expressed their hope that on that plan everything will be defined by 1 July.
Joint cross-border projects that should be financed from the EU funds were also looked at.
We went through all the issues of mutual relations that are important now. The approach is based on the evaluation of the present and what our highest priorities are. We are turned to the future and the things that will bring benefits to both countries, Mrkic pointed out.
The Minister expressed his hope that relations between Belgrade and Zagreb will be a role model in the Balkans.
Speaking about the European integration, Mrkic underlined that Croatia, which will became a member of the EU on 1 July is a pioneer and an example to all countries in the region.

Serbia is hoping to get a date in mid-year and is doing everything in its power to achieve that.
Pusic said that Croatia supports the view that Serbia should get a starting date for negotiations with the EU, adding that the path of each of the countries towards the EU is beneficial not only for the country but also for the stability of the entire region.
Mrkic met today with Speaker of the Croatian Parliament Josip Leko, and then with President of Croatia Ivo Josipovic, with which he wrapped up his visit to Croatia.
