The Serbian government has said that General Milan Gvero, after a conversation with Serbian Justice Minister Zoran Stojkovic, has decided to voluntarily go to The Hague tribunal and to help the people and the country in that way. General Gvero said he wants to fulfill this obligation in the interest of the state, the people, and his family.

The Serbian government welcomes Gvero’s decision to go to The Hague tribunal voluntarily and considers it a moral decision in the interest of the state. The government will give all the necessary guarantees for Gvero to be released pending trial and will provide assistance for his family.
General Milan Gvero will fly to The Hague on Thursday, February 24, accompanied by Serbian Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government Zoran Loncar.
The indictment against Gvero has been submitted to the Serbia-Montenegrin authorities, reads the statement.
