Director of the Serbian government’s Office for Kosovo-Metohija Aleksandar Vulin said today that yesterday's arrest of nine Serbs in Gracanica, who were later transferred to Pristina, is an act of anarchy and that it can impair the upcoming continuation of dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina on 17 January in Brussels.

Speaking on Radio Television of Serbia, Vucic said that the nine Serbs were detained after the Christmas liturgy at the Gracanica monastery, and that their arrest was pure provocation and coarse violence, not caused by anything.
He said that Serbia will follow the developments and will provide legal assistance to those arrested.
We have to wait and see what will be the political decision of representatives of the interim institutions. Not the legal decision, but the political one, since this has nothing to do with law. We will take measures depending on their political decision, but we will not abandon our people, Vulin underlined.
The Director of the Office for Kosovo-Metohija said that Serbia has shown many times how much it is interested in peace and that his visit to Gracanica for Christmas was a message of peace and Serbia's desire to show that it sees the solution to the Kosovo problem only through peace.
According to him, the international community should consider whether its unreserved support for Pristina can continue and whether that is why Pristina interpreted this support as approval for any kind of violence.
We have said countless times that the abolition of the supervised independence was a tragic mistake. The international community and Pristina must understand that there can be no lasting and just solution for Kosovo-Metohija without the consent of Serbia and the Serbs living there, Vulin stated.
