At today’s session the Serbian government adopted an Information about the constitution of the Fund for Kosovo-Metohija, which has so far gathered 104.9 million dinars. Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica, who is the fund’s chairman, said that the fund has considered opening an office in Kosovo-Metohija to facilitate the delivery of the most urgently needed humanitarian aid.
The government also decided to open a Fund office in Gracanica, to be headed by the Bishop of Raska and Prizren Artemije, who is a member of the Management Board of the Fund for Kosovo-Metohija.
The government also decided to allocate eight million dinars to the office in Gracanica for meeting humanitarian needs.
The government approved 760,000 dinars from the Fund to pay for the visit of a hundred children from Kosovo-Metohija to the traditional ‘Children’s Recreational Winter Festival’ held in the mountain resort of Divcibare.
As part of the session the government also appointed the president, vice-president and members to the Council for Kosovo-Metohija. Vojislav Kostunica is Council president, while the vice-presidents are Vuk Draskovic, Miroljub Labus, Nebojsa Covic and Bishop Teodosije Decanski.
The Council has 27 members including Serbia-Montenegrin Minister of Human Rights and Minorities Rasim Ljajic, Serbian Minister of Science and Environmental Protection Aleksandar Popovic and Minister of Trade, Tourism and Services Bojan Dimitrijevic.
