Director of the Serbian government’s Office for Kosovo-Metohija Aleksandar Vulin said today that the Serbian government is very concerned about the tense situation in Brdjani and that it expects from the international community to immediately fulfil its obligations and promises and ensure peace in that part of Kosovska Mitrovica.
Vulin told the press that the situation in Brdjani is very tense, but that Serbia has been promised by representatives of the international community that there will be no escalation.
According to him, unlicensed construction in the neighbourhood of Brdjani constantly goes on and the land belonging to the municipality and individuals of Serbian nationality is being usurped by their Albanian neighbours with the help of special units of ROSU.
The Serbian government and the Office for Kosovo-Metohija are very worried about this situation. We are absolutely against violence. We ask all sides to refrain themselves, the international community to stop ROSU, to fulfil its obligations and help us to maintain peace in Kosovo because with constant tensions and incidents and the constant use of weapons it is impossible to negotiate, Vulin stated.
