Prime Minister Ivica Dacic has instructed all ministries and relevant institutions to meet within deadline the recommendations of the European Commission (EC) in the process of European integration planned for this year.
At the first meeting of the Coordinating body for accession to the European Union in the new composition, it was concluded that a faster progress in the European integration process and the beginning of negotiations on the EU membership is one of the priorities of the Serbian government.
The Coordinating body has accepted the Action plan for implementation of recommendations of the European Commission from the Annual report on the progress of the Republic of Serbia in the European integration process for 2012.
The task of the Coordinating body is to coordinate the work of government bodies in relation to Serbia’s accession to the EU, and to consider political and strategic issues related to the process.
The plan is that the Serbian government adopts the Action plan before the meeting of the European Council in December this year in order to demonstrate readiness for the fulfilment of all conditions needed for obtaining the date of the beginning of the negotiations.
The Serbian government will discuss the level of fulfilment of this plan on three occasions – in April, July and September 2013.
