Dinkic held a lecture on Zlatibor Mt on "Economic policy of the government and fiscal consolidation" and said that that the arrival of the IMF negotiating mission regarding a potential new arrangement with the financial institution is expected at the end of January or beginning of February.
According to Dinkic, the IMF delegation will discuss mid-term plan of structural reforms, given that it is important for our country to reduce its debt and implement this type of reform.
He stated that the Serbian government decided to cut the budget deficit twice as it wants to reduce huge inherited expense for interest rates and to guarantee a stable future to Serbian citizens.
The Minister said that any assistance from the IMF is welcomed, and expressed confidence that an agreement will be reached with this international financial institution.
The Minister said that yesterday he had talks with Director of the World Bank for Eastern Europe and Central Asia Jane Armitage, who expressed her satisfaction with the cooperation with Serbia.
The World Bank is pleased with certain proposed legislation and the budget proposal for 2013, he said, adding that the bank supports the announced reform.
This reform will introduce central public procurement in order to reduce costs, save resources and reduce corruption in this area.
The World Bank is supporting these efforts and by the end of the year it is ready to pay $100 million for Serbia because our country has fulfilled all the conditions of the arrangement it had with the institution, Dinkic concluded.
