Serbian Minister of International Economic Relations Milan Parivodic said late on Thursday, upon his return from a SCG-Greek conference in Athens themed “Initiative for Partnership”, that Serbia showed that it could become Greece’s major partner in the Balkans.

Parivodic told reporters at the Belgrade Airport that the Serbian delegation made very good contacts and agreed on concrete deals, adding that the Greece’s most influential financial weekly has estimated that some €1.2 billion will go from Greece to Serbia in the forthcoming period.
He added that a forum of Greek and Serbian businesspeople was created, under the auspices of the chambers of commerce of Belgrade and Athens.
Minister of Energy and Mining Radomir Naumov announced the arrival of representatives of Greek oil company Hellenic Petroleum for talks on future cooperation and opportunities for investment in Serbia’s oil industry.
The Serbian delegation in Athens included deputy and assistant ministers of economy, finance, capital investment, agriculture, and trade, tourism, and services.
The conference was organised by non-governmental organisation Lifeline Hellas and the two countries’ line ministries.
