The Office states that Petar Baltic and Ivan Pavlovic were severely injured in an attack motivated by national differences, in which they were repeatedly hit by a pistol on their heads and bodies.
The Office demands that the international community, UNMIK, KFOR and EULEX stop the violence against Serbs in the southern province and enable them a life free of fear and threats, in line with their mandates.
It also recalls that the international community has accepted the obligation to establish the rule of law in Kosovo-Metohija and to ensure the safety of all residents in the southern Serbian province.
Furthermore, it requests an investigation into the matter and that those responsible for this attack be located and punished, as well as that the broader public be informed of their identities.
Unresolved and unpunished crimes over Serbs only add fuel to the fire and encourage an atmosphere of fear and distrust, which has reigned for too long in Kosovo-Metohija, the statement adds.
