The Serbian government’s Office for Kosovo-Metohija warned the international community today that every statement of officials of interim institutions of self-government in Pristina aimed at hindering or preventing dialogue which Serbia announces and requests, is always followed by violence.
A statement issued by the Office says that the shooting at a police checkpoint in the village of Dobrosin is obviously in direct connection with the statements of Pristina representatives that the municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja must be included in the announced negotiations on the future of Kosovo-Metohija.
The Office for Kosovo-Metohija requests from the international community to use its influence on the interim institutions in Pristina and make it clear that violence will not be tolerated because negotiations that start with threats and continue with shooting will not be successful.
Condemning all kinds of violence, the Office recalls that the shooting on the Gendarmerie is a proof that the abolishment of the so-called supervised independence is a tragic mistake and that the reduction of presence of the international community in the southern province is not possible.
In the night between 7 and 8 October, unknown attackers opened fire on the police checkpoint in the village of Dobrosin on the administrative line with Kosovo-Metohija and there were no injured in the attack.
In less than six months this is the third attack on this police checkpoint, it is underlined in the statement.
