Director of the Serbian government’s Office for Kosovo-Metohija Aleksandar Vulin said today that the fact that members of the Kosovo police prevented him from visiting the north of Kosovska Mitrovica is in the function of obstruction of the continuation of dialogue between Pristina and Belgrade.
In a statement to reporters in the southern part of Kosovska Mitrovica, Vulin said that members of the Kosovo Police Service (KPS) did not let him visit the northern part of that divided city, where he was scheduled to speak with representatives of the Serbs from the north of the province and UNMIK.
He said that the repercussions of
the incident that occurred near Zubin Potok on the overall situation are now clearly visible , adding that what happened is not in the interest of the government and the citizens of Serbia.
Vulin explained that the meetings he was scheduled to have in northern Mitrovica were to deal with this incident and ways to reduce tensions.
The Serbian government will do anything to ease the tensions and will not allow violence and such things to be repeated, whereas this unfair act of representatives of the provisional institutions of Kosovo is just showing that they have a problem with dialogue and want negotiations to be postponed, Vulin said.
The car carrying the Director of the Office of Kosovo-Metohija, after waiting for more than an hour, was returned from the southern part of Kosovska Mitrovica to Pristina and the Merdare administrative crossing.
