In an interview to Beta news agency, Vulin said it would be best if the UN were included in the process, noting that this depends on the UN Security Council and Brussels, and not only on Serbia.
Serbia believes that the talks would be much more expedient and successful if the UN used its authorisations, he said, adding that this initiative does not bring Belgrade in collision with the EU or the USA.
Speaking about the possibility that the UN are not included in the dialogue, but that only the EU remains as a mediator, Vulin underlined that Belgrade will attend the talks because this is the only way to a solution.
He noted that Serbia wants the dialogue to be raised to a higher political level, which can only be a positive sign to the international community and citizens in Kosovo-Metohija of how earnest Belgrade is in its desire to resolve the issues in the southern province.
He reiterated that it must nevertheless be clear that Serbian representatives will not meet with representatives of the so-called Kosovo state, but only with legitimate delegates of Kosovo Albanians.
We have proved that we are ready for dialogue, and now the other side and the international community must prove the same. We cannot exert any influence on the Albanians, but others can. Therefore we call upon the international community to exert pressure on Kosovo, Vulin noted.
