Persecution of Serbian returnees in Kosovo must stop

Following the information regarding the repeated attempt of murder of the returnee Veljko Komatovic in the village of Zac, the Office for Kosovo-Metohija requested from the international community, UNMIK, KFOR and EULEX that the persecution of returnees in Kosovo-Metohija be stopped.
The Office of Kosovo-Metohija has requested an investigation, that those responsible be penalised and that the public be informed.
The shots fired at returnees is the shooting in the very idea of return. The right of return is not denied to any Albanian family, so why the right to return has been denied to the families of the Serbs, the statement said.
The Office for Kosovo-Metohija reminds that the international community took over an obligation to enable not just the return, but also life devoid of threats and fear.
Since the arrival of international forces in Kosovo-Metohija over a thousand Serbs have been killed, and their killers are almost never revealed and never punished, the statement added.
