Minister of Finance and Economy Mladjan Dinkic said today during his visit to RTB Bor that the state will help that investment in building a new smelter and sulfuric acid plant speed up, and then have the supporting industries based on copper in motion.

Dinkic, who is member the
delegation of the Serbian government visiting Bor on the occasion of Miners’ Day, said that the task of the Ministry of Finance and Economy is to provide further development of manufacturing industry in the metal complex that uses products from RTB Bor and other mines.
He announced that in cooperation with the management of RTB Bor efforts are made to find a solution on how to increase the processing capacity of the basin and export of finished products.
Today the RTB Bor management presented us with data on the total estimated production worth approximately $1 billion a year, said the Minister.
He wished the miners a happy Miners’ Day, and said that he expects that the new sulfuric acid plant will be put into operation at the beginning of 2014 and that the people of Bor will finally have some fresh air and clean environment.
