Speaking about the shooting at Dobrosin checkpoint, which belongs to the jurisdiction of Bujanovac, Veljovic said that this was an attack on the Serbian police, specifying that five police officers were at the checkpoint at the time of the shooting, of whom one suffered light injuries.
Veljovic noted that this is the
second attack at Dobrosin police checkpoint within a short period, adding that the police did nothing to provoke the incidents.
He stressed that the police will do all it takes to find the perpetrators and respond adequately, sending a message to EULEX and other elements in the province that problems, no matter what they are, cannot be resolved in this manner.
As for the incident at Merdare, Veljovic specified that around 22.00 last night two buses with Partizan supporters departed for Gazimestan.
The Serbian police searched the bus and found nothing that could have suggested that the bus should be returned.
He explained that at Merdare crossing three windows on the bus were smashed, and when the passengers got off the bus, a conflict broke out between them and the Kosovo police who used firearms and chemicals.
Veljovic said that ten Partizan supporters were injured, of whom two suffered serious injuries, adding that they were shot and are now hospitalised at the Nis Clinical Centre.
He said that such behaviour of the Kosovo police is impermissible, noting that the Serbian police acted in line with its authorisations.
