Stefanovic told a press conference that after a conflicting interpretation of the agreement by EU mediator Robert Cooper, the fact remains that the problem of regional representation has not been resolved, bearing in mind that the agreement reads that the denomination Kosovo shall include the asterisk and the full text of the footnote.
He said that Belgrade demands and is ready to implement the entire agreement as soon as it is defined in institutions as it has been agreed upon – as an integral whole with the text of the footnote.
Unfortunately, there is an interpretation which favours Pristina’s interests, which says that it was not specified where the footnote should be located, Stefanovic stressed.
Also, he added that Serbia will soon have to deal with the questions such as the dialling code for Kosovo and the opening of the offices of Pristina and Belgrade.
The requests for opening an office of Pristina in Belgrade and of Belgrade in Pristina have not been part of dialogue to date, but they will surely show up in the future, Stefanovic noted.
Regarding the dialling code of Kosovo, Stefanovic specified that Belgrade’s position is that it can only be the dialling code of the Republic of Serbia whereas Pristina wants it to be completely different.
These are the questions that we will have to face, and which have not yet been opened, he said, recalling that the previous rounds of dialogue dealt with energy and telecommunications, but no agreement was reached.
