The Serbian Statistical Office stated today that the overall foreign trade of the Republic of Serbia in the period January-February 2012 amounted to $4172.6 million, which is a 4.2% decrease compared to the same period of 2011, or expressed in Euros, €3197.4 million, which is a 0.8% decrease compared to the same period of 2011.
The value of exports amounted to $1402.1 million, which is a 12.9% decrease when compared to the same period last year, while the value of imports amounted to $2770.5 million, which is a 1% increase relative to the same period last year.
Expressed in Euros, the value of exports amounted to €1074.5 million, which is a decrease of 9.9% compared to the same period last year.
The value of imports amounted to €2122.9 million, which is a 4.5% increase when compared to the same period last year.
The deficit amounted to $1368.3 million, which is an increase of 20.7% in relation to the same period last year. The deficit expressed in Euros amounted to €1048.4 million, which is an increase of 24.8% compared to the same period last year.
The export - import ratio equalled 50.6% and was lower if compared to the same period last year when it was 58.7%.
