Bogdanovic told Tanjug news agency that this response is a consequence of the situation on the ground, and this fact is not hidden either in the response or in the statements of the officials of the UN mission.
A somewhat more positive element in the response of UNMIK is the readiness of this mission not to give up its powers in the domain of holding local elections in Kosovo-Metohija.
The Minister noted that the international missions are also responsible for the situation on the ground to which UNMIK referred, because it is a fact that none of the officials of the international missions reacted to the threats of violence made by Pristina in case elections are held in the province.
The absence of reaction encourages the extremists, so ANA, which UNMIK and the United States declared a terrorist organisation, made their voice heard, Bogdanovic said.
He recalled that he sent a letter to UNMIK, pointing out that Serbia consistently respects Resolution 1244 and that the UN mission should be in charge of holding local elections in the province.
Unfortunately, he noted, the reality is that local elections can hardly be held south of the Ibar River without the support of the international missions.
Our contacts with UNMIK and other international factors in the province regarding the holding of local elections will be continued, while at the same time we must rationally consider what are the options available and their benefits and consequences, the Minister underlined.
