Director of the Serbian government’s Office for Kosovo and Metohija Petar Petković met today with a delegation of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Senate of the Kingdom of Spain, led by President of the Committee Pilar Rojo Noguera.
Petković informed his interlocutors about all unilateral and escalatory moves carried out by Priština against Serbs, especially pointing to the dangerous consequences that will arise if the application of the so-called laws on foreigners and vehicles begins.
According to him, with these moves, Albin Kurti wishes to expel Serbs from Kosovo and Metohija and deliver a direct blow to the Serbian education and health institutions in the province.
He especially pointed to a recent incursion by unidentified individuals into the Rectorate building in Kosovska Mitrovica with unfounded requests, which represents alarming pressure and a dangerous threat to the University.
He underlined that Belgrade insists that the topic of the draft statute of the Community of Serb Municipalities become a subject of negotiations, as that is an obligation that Priština assumed 13 years ago, and that only within that framework is it possible to find a solution to current problems.
Petković expressed his gratitude for the consistent and firm support of the Kingdom of Spain to the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia when it comes to the issue of Kosovo and Metohija and added that the Serbian people highly appreciates that.
