Sutanovac and Salamatin also looked at the defence system reform, regional cooperation and cooperation with the EU, as well as the improvement of their military-technical cooperation.
Sutanovac noted that there are no unresolved issues or misunderstandings in the relations between their two countries, which facilitates cooperation in the defence sector.
He also noted that today’s meeting concerned the cooperation between Serbia and Ukraine in military education, training and joint manoeuvres, while the most important topic was military-technical cooperation.
Sutanovac observed that there is a mutual need to train units in both Serbia and Ukraine, to organise joint trainings and exercises, as well as mutual interest in cooperation in military education.
The Minister recalled that a mixed committee for military-technical cooperation was formed and will soon hold its third session, noting that the two states already cooperate in the field of weapons and military equipment overhaul.
Sutanovac also voiced hope that the two countries will have joint production and that they will sell these products on the thrid market.
Sutanovac underlined that Ukraine is one of the major powers in the production of armaments and military equipment and as such, it is very interesting for cooperation.
Salamatin said that Ukraine is undergoing a big military reform and that it will take Serbia’s experience as an example and voiced hope that the contacts between the two countries will continue to expand.
