Production in Zelezara Smederevo launched

Minister of Economy and Regional Development Nebojsa Ciric stated today that the situation in Zelezara Smederevo ironworks has been consolidated.
Ciric told the press at the Blic Entrepreneur 2011 awards ceremony that the assembly and a new leadership have been elected, working capital has been secured and production launched.
The Minister noted that the priority is to keep the ironworks working, to enable regular salary pay-outs to workers and to continue the import and export oriented production.
The government and the ironworks are actively trying to find a partner for the company, Ciric said, explaining that a strategic partner should take over management or ownership of the ironworks together with the state or on their own.
