Stefanovic stated before the beginning of today’s round of talks in Brussels that it is obvious that the provisional institutions of authority in Pristina place unrealistic demands which render everything agreed to date senseless.
He explained that Serbia agreed to the asymmetric representation of Pristina and underlined that the UN Security Council Resolution 1244 is the essence of this asymmetry or inequality.
Stefanovic said that the Belgrade delegation is ready to accept that in the representation of Kosovo, together with the reference to Resolution 1244, another important international document be mentioned, and that is the advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice.
He recalled that Belgrade's position has broad support from the international community and stressed that this can be seen by the letter which the foreign ministers of Austria, France and Italy sent to EU High Representatives Catherine Ashton, in which they support Serbia's candidacy for EU membership.
