After meeting with Ban Ki-moon, Jeremic told the Tanjug news agency that they discussed
yesterday's report of the Secretary-General to the Security Council, adding that it was concluded that UNMIK is seen as one of the key elements of the international presence in Kosovo-Metohija and that there is no solution for the southern province without the mission entrusted by UN Security Council Resolution 1244.
He noted that he told the UN Secretary General that Serbia is fully committed to peaceful negotiations, adding that there is no other way to find any technical or political solution for Kosovo-Metohija in the future.
Serbia has requested new consultations regarding the investigation of human organ trafficking in Kosovo, he said noting that it was suggested that the investigation be transferred from the jurisdiction of EULEX to the UN, stating that this could happen at the next meeting of the Security Council.
He said that one year after the investigation started, EULEX has not presented any information about what has been done and how the investigation has progressed.
Jeremic also initiated the issue of funds of the Kosovo Privatisation Agency (KPA) that functions within the UNMIK mission in the province.
He stated that these funds cannot be used by the provisional institutions in Pristina.
On behalf of Serbia, as a UN member, I asked that those funds are blocked, he said.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs said that during his meeting with UN Secretary General they also discussed possible forms of cooperation if Serbia is selected to chair the UN General Assembly.
Jeremic took the opportunity to invite Ban Ki-moon to come to Belgrade in April this year, when a regional conference of the Alliance of Civilisations will take place.
During the day, Jeremic met with ambassadors to the UN of Brazil Maria Luiza Ribeiro Viotti, Botswana Charles Ntwaagae, Pakistan Abdullah Hussein Haroon, and Morocco Mohamed Loulichki.
