Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Đurić today condemned in the strongest terms the raid on the premises of public water utility company Vodovod Ibar in the northern part of Kosovska Mitrovica, carried out by representatives of the provisional institutions in Priština.

The Minister stated that the incident continued the practice of forcefully altering the situation on the ground and delivered another blow to efforts to revive a productive dialogue between Belgrade and Priština.
Đurić emphasised that this unilateral, provocative act, undoubtedly undertaken with the knowledge and approval of Albin Kurti, could have potentially dangerous consequences for the stability of the water supply to the Serb population in northern Kosovska Mitrovica.
He noted in particular the alarming threat to the supply of the hospital operating within the Serbian healthcare system in the city, as well as to schools and kindergartens.
This, he said, represents yet another brazen assault on the basic human rights of Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija, with the aim of making their lives unbearable and encouraging the ongoing displacement of the Serb population from that part of Serbia’s southern province.
