In his speech at the UN Security Council session in New York, dedicated to the situation in Kosovo-Metohija, Jeremic said that Serbia remains committed to dialogue with Pristina because this is the only legitimate mechanism to overcome the differences in opinions.
As for the problem of Pristina’s representation at regional forums which will be debated in the next round of dialogue, he recalled that Serbia never prevented anyone’s voice from being heard in this part of the world, including that of Pristina.
However, Pristina’s representation has to be explicitly in line with UN Security Council Resolution 1244, Jeremic stressed and demanded that the Security Council endorses the importance of this Resolution in the context of the dialogue.
The Minister reiterated that Serbia will also never give up on its request that the investigation into human organ trafficking in Kosovo and Albania be conducted under the auspices of the UN Security Council.
He recalled that the Serbian President proposed a solution for Kosovo-Metohija which has to ensure international protection of Serbia’s interests in the southern province by securing a realistic solution for the north of Kosovo, protection of the enclaves south of the Ibar River, preservation of the Serbian identity and religious inheritance and resolution of property disputes.
The only way to secure a lasting and long-term solution to the issue of Kosovo-Metohija is for the two sides to discuss all unresolved issues in good faith, Jeremic said.
