The statement says that the financial agreement on the implementation of the second tranche of the fourth EIB Apex loan of €250 million was signed today by EIB, Serbia and NBS.
The loan under favourable conditions provides additional funding for economic development and lending to SMEs (from 250 to 3,000 employees).
This crediting will contribute to economic growth in the current financial crisis and job creation in Serbia.
This will also provide support to export-oriented companies, car industry, the media, as well as priority projects.
The funds are granted with a maturity of seven years, with a grace period of two years and with variable or fixed interest rate depending on the choice of end-users.
The funds of the second tranche of the loan will be realised through intermediary financial institutions selected by EIB.
Since mid-2002 EIB has approved a total of €565 million to Serbia through four Apex loans, of which three amounted to €315 million realised through 462 credits, generating 3,811 jobs, according to the statement.
