Minister for Kosovo-Metohija Goran Bogdanovic stressed that at this moment, holding a referendum in northern Kosovo-Metohija is completely unnecessary and that political representatives of Serbs should act in coordination with the government and the Serbian President.
The Ministry says in a statement that today in Belgrade Minister Bogdanovic talked with representatives of four municipalities from northern Kosovo-Metohija and the head of the Kosovska Mitrovica District.
Municipal representatives said they believe that full cooperation and joint actions with Serbia’s top officials are required in order to reach the most acceptable solution.
The meeting discussed the current issues and the security situation in the province.
The officials also discussed ways to stabilise the situation and keep the existing tensions in the north of the province under control in order to avoid further complications, the statement added.
