Milivoje Mihajlovic
Appearing on Radio-Television Serbia (RTS), Mihajlovic said that the policy "both Kosovo and the EU" is not a two-track policy, but the policy of a single approach.
Serbia’s approaching to the EU must contribute to solving the problems in Kosovo-Metohija and those two things are not opposite to each other, said Mihajlovic.
He said that German Chancellor Angela Merkel during her yesterday's visit to Kosovo-Metohija requested from province’s and local authorities to participate in the finding a solution for Kosovo and to help in dialogue.
Mihajlovic said that Pristina has been asked to cooperate with EULEX and to tackle crime and corruption, whereas Belgrade has not received any new requirements other than those sent this summer, when Merkel visited Belgrade.
Speaking about the position of the German Chancellor that Belgrade should remove the so-called parallel structures in Kosovo, he reiterated that those are legal institutions, elected at legal elections, and that primarily exist to ensure the survival of Serbs in the province.
Implementation of agreements reached between Belgrade and Pristina is in progress, he said noting that agreements reached in Brussels are good to calm the situation.
We do not see it as a ticket to Europe, but primarily as an instrument to reach a just solution to a lasting stability in Kosovo-Metohija, concluded Mihajlovic.
