Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica met today with NATO’s Commander in Chief of Allied Forces for Southern Europe, Admiral Michael Mullen. Serbia-Montenegrin Minister of Defence Prvoslav Davinic also attended the meeting.
The talks focused on the current situation in Kosovo-Metohija, especially on the extremely difficult position of the Serb community whose security is imperilled.
Kostunica briefed Admiral Mullen on the efforts of the Serbian government to improve the position of Serbs in Kosovo-Metohija and pointed out that it is necessary to secure conditions for the return of displaced Serbs and non-Albanians.
Admiral Mullen said that KFOR can guarantee safety to Serbs and other non-Albanians in Kosovo-Metohija and ward off any attempt to repeat the violence from March 2004.
