Prime Minister Professor Đuro Macut, MD, DSc, stated today, at a ceremony marking the 25th anniversary of the re-establishment of the Gendarmerie, that this special unit of the Ministry of the Interior is one of the pillars of Serbia’s defence and security.

Macut wished the members of the Gendarmerie many more successful years in safeguarding the security of the citizens and the Republic of Serbia.
Commander of the Gendarmerie Colonel Radoslav Repac emphasised that the unit is ready to carry out all security tasks and respond to all security challenges.
On this occasion, plaques were presented to the Prime Minister, who also attended a demonstration exercise by members of the Gendarmerie, and to Police Director Dragan Vasiljević, in recognition of their support for the work of the Gendarmerie.
Macut presented Commander of the Gendarmerie Colonel Repac with an icon of Saint Prince Lazar on the occasion of the Gendarmerie’s forthcoming patron saint’s day celebration.
