In an interview for today's issue of Danas daily, Stefanovic noted that Serbia is expected to continue the dialogue and achieve concrete results, adding that in this sense Serbia’s image can be positive owing to the fact that the dialogue has resumed and a concrete solution to the issue of university degrees achieved.
He added that at the upcoming meeting on 30 November a compromise solution will be sought to one of the two above-mentioned issues, which, if the talks are successful, will enable Serbia to be granted candidate status.
This is important, but not a priority, Stefanovic observed, adding that the priority is to resolve these issues.
Serbia will never recognise the unilaterally declared independence of Kosovo-Metohija, he reiterated, stressing that all agreements with Pristina will be implemented, as this is the government’s unanimous stance.
The agreement on mutual recognition of university degrees does not imply any deadlines and refers to the degrees issued by the University in Pristina.
According to this agreement, Serbia recognises the qualification of students which replaces the university degree and will not contain any demarcations of the so-called Kosovo state, he explained.
Stefanovic noted that the qualification will be certified by the European University Association, while Serbia will be at liberty to determine which documents are valid.
Equally so, if anyone from central Serbia wants to work in Pristina, they will be able to do that through a supplement – a replacement for a degree, Stefanovic concluded.
