In a broadcast on Radio Television Serbia Mihajlovic said that at this moment the most important thing is to resume dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina and move it from a standstill.
Mihajlovic assessed that it is good that the problem with university degrees has been solved in a way, but that it is not good that in this round of dialogue it was seen that Pristina does not give up its goal to use dialogue as an instrument for proving the unilaterally proclaimed independence of Kosovo.
Pristina is trying to prolong the crisis in northern Kosovo by refusing to solve and see the essence of the problem at the administrative crossings because this crisis obviously suits Pristina, he said.
If anyone in this process showed a good will for solving problems that is Belgrade, Mihajlovic underlined.
He said that in yesterday’s talks there were serious ideas and chances for bringing the positions of the two sides closer, but the problem is that Pristina wants to prove at every step some kind of statehood in Kosovo-Metohija.
The resumption of dialogue next week should show to which degree Europe is ready to enter into a serious problem-solving, without taking sides, he said.
Mihajlovic explained that he refers to countries that are Serbia's European partners and whether they will put pressure on Pristina to relieve dialogue of additional burden and new possibilities that Pristina might create a crisis like the one in the summer when it sent special forces to the north of Kosovo.
Speaking about relations between negotiators and presidents of municipalities from northern Kosovo, and how possible it is that their positions will be brought closer and that they will participate jointly next Thursday, Mihajlovic said that he is sure that there will be a convergence of views.
