Minister of Environment, Mining and Spatial Planning Oliver Dulic talked today in Tallinn with Estonian Minister of Economy Juhan Parts about the possibilities of exploitation of oil shales in the Aleksinac basin.

Dulic said in a telephone statement to Beta news agency that Estonia has been satisfying its needs for energy by using oil shales for decades.
The technology which Estonia uses in oil shale exploitation is one of the leading in the world and best for environmental protection and water protection, the Minister underlined.
Dulic noted that the visit to Estonia is also useful for considering all options for calling an invitation for cooperation with some of the world leading companies in the exploitation of oil shales in the Aleksinac basin.
It is estimated that there are 2.1 billion tonnes of oil shales with the average oil content of around 10%.
The Serbian delegation which is on visit to Estonia includes Ministry representatives and experts from the Institute of Geology and Mining.
