In a statement to Radio Television Serbia, he said that this is a good opportunity to establish a more normal communication between citizens and KFOR, which is the only guarantee of safety to Serbs in Kosovo-Metohija.
He noted that it is not in the interest of the Serbs to additionally complicate the situation, or to spend time on the barricades, but that they will persevere in not allowing the deployment of bodies of the so-called independent state of Kosovo north of the Ibar river.
The Serbs have only one condition - that KFOR be status neutral, and to work within the mandate it has as a peacekeeping mission of the UN.
The Serbs from Kosovo-Metohija want the situation in the north to stabilise because the crisis favours only Pristina, Mihajlovic stated and expressed his hope that the Serbs in northern Kosovo will not make moves that will be harmful to them and their survival.
Reducing tensions in northern Kosovo would mean giving a chance to dialogue, that all the problems that occur slowly start to be resolved at the negotiating table, he noted.
