In a statement to Beta news agency Stefanovic underlined that Serbia deems forceful removal of the barricades will prove unproductive since the situation is already very tense.
It can only jeopardise the whole diplomatic process whose aim is to solve the issues at Brnjak and Jarinje administrative crossings, he pointed out.
Stefanovic said that he maintains contact with EU mediator Robert Cooper with the intention to find adequate solution for the crossings, adding that for that to be achieved the situation has to remain stable.
It is also important for the municipal presidents in the north of Kosovo to take stand on the current situation since they are legitimately elected representatives of Serbian people in the province, Stefanovic pointed out.
It would be extremely detrimental to undermine the unity of the country and its citizens as many obstacles wait for us in the future. We have to be wise and take the road which will preserve our unity, institutions and people’s homes, Stefanovic added.
