Alibunar municipal president arrested for accepting bribe

The Ministry of the Interior stated today that in a continued campaign to stop corruption, the police, the Criminal Police Administration and the Pancevo Police Administration arrested Alibunar municipal president Danijel Kismarton (36) on suspicion that he has committed a criminal act of accepting bribe.
In the capacity of the municipal president of Alibunar municipality, the suspect demanded and received €5,000 from a farmer from Vladimirovci in order to grant him more state-owned arable land than the farmer would have normally received.
Kismarton will be taken before the investigating judge in Pancevo, the statement adds.
