Consumer prices in August 2011 in comparison to the same month last year increased by 10.5%, while compared to December 2010 they increased by 6.2%.
Observed by groups and compared to last August, the greatest August price increase was recorded in communication (5.4%) and recreation and culture (2.7%), due to an increase in the price of textbooks.
The largest drop was in the food and non-alcoholic beverages category (1.3%) because of lower prices of fruits and vegetables typical for this time of year.
The prices of other goods and services did not change significantly.
