Jeremic said at a joint news conference with Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik that what happened in July in Kosovo was certainly caused by the fact that someone decided to send a special unit of the Kosovo police to northern Kosovo, and what happened after that resulted from that decision, which must be condemned.
If the decision is not condemned, this will happen again, and we cannot allow the repetition of instability and jeopardising security in any part of Kosovo, the Minister said.
He informed the Republika Srpska President about the talks with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, adding that Merkel’s messages during her visit to Belgrade will have strategic consequences for the Western Balkans.
It is important that the leadership of the Republika Srpska hears from the first hand what was discussed and Serbia’s views on the time ahead of us after those messages, he said.
We try to have coordinated messages, to help each other in international affairs, said Jeremic, adding that he came to Banja Luka to formulate a common position and to seek support from Bosnia-Herzegovina for Serbia's request to condemn the unilateral use of force in Kosovo at the Security Council session.
Dodik said that Kosovo is now a key issue in the region, adding that the Republika Srpska will follow Serbia's stands and will not give its consent to Bosnian recognition of Kosovo's independence.
Considering the role of Bosnia-Herzegovina as a member of the UN Security Council, we will try to build a common position at the state level on this issue, especially considering the unilateral use of force by the so-called Kosovo authorities in the events that triggered the latest crisis, he said.
He also stressed that cooperation between the Republika Srpska and Serbia is improving and announced the continuation of projects, especially in harmonising educational programmes of the two countries.
