Appearing last night on Radio-Television Serbia, Ciric pointed out that there is a risk for our exports, which is constantly growing, because of the recession in markets such as Italy and Austria, where Serbia traditionally exports, which is why it is necessary to come up with concrete measures to support Serbian exporters.
He said that these measures include strengthening institutions and the Export Credit and Insurance Agency as well as reducing mandatory reserves for commercial banks that would direct their money towards export-oriented companies.
The Minister said that Serbia is ready to react if big problems arise, adding that he expects the Serbian government to reach a precautionary agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in September.
Ciric said that the
meeting held two days ago in the Serbian government was aimed at reviewing the current macroeconomic situation in Serbia and seeing what the chances are for the new world crisis in to occur in Serbia.
