Stefanovic and Mihajlovic said late yesterday in a broadcast on Radio Television Serbia that gradual removal of barricades in the north of Kosovo may be expected.
Stefanovic specified that the agreement envisages the freezing of the current situation on the ground, control of the administrative crossings by KFOR and removal of barricades by the Serbs.
Also, the agreement stipulates that there should be no so-called Kosovo customs on the administrative crossings and in the north of Kosovo, or members of the special unit of the Kosovo police.
The agreement also allowed the passage of vehicles carrying up to 3.5 tonnes, the head of the Serbian government’s team said and added that this agreement received firm international guarantees.
He underlined that making this agreement is very positive for our state because Serbia has been given full legitimacy to negotiate with the international community about Kosovo-Metohija.
Therefore, the international community did not negotiate with representatives of municipalities of northern Kosovo, but with the state of Serbia, and with this we confirmed our sovereignty, Stefanovic highlighted.
Mihajlovic said that many people understood that this agreement is a chance for peace, that it reduces tensions and brings life back to normal.
